Generalizing Human Beings.

I know this post is probably going to be risky… but like I said, take it or leave it.

With the upcoming election, I see a lot of people posting a lot of different views. Which I respect. What I am not too fond of is the constant generalizing that goes on. “Trump supporters are violent”. “Hillary supporters are lazy”. Seriously? There are violent people who support Trump and there are violent people who support Hillary. There are lazy people who support Hillary and there are lazy people who support Trump. Believe it or not, there are good, decent people who support Hillary and there are good, decent people who support Trump. You can’t make an assumption on “supporters” when there are MILLIONS of them on each side. You mean to tell me that all of those millions of people are in your “category” of what a Hillary or Trump supporter is? Take your stubborn views somewhere else.

*I am not here to argue for either candidate. Honestly, I’m not a fan of either of them and voting is going to be very difficult for me. ANYWAY.

Same goes for BLM. (here goes nothin’)… Not ALL black people hate cops. Not ALL cops hate black people. If I might add, not ALL white people are ignorant to systemic racism either. It’s there. Some of us are fully aware of this and some of us aren’t. This whole divide comes from people generalizing. I like to treat these incidents on a case by case basis. I don’t believe every cop who has killed an unarmed black man did it on purpose or because they are hateful. I don’t believe every unarmed black man was “not cooperative” or “acting suspicious”. The opposite is also true. Some cops are hateful (as are a lot of human beings who are not cops) and some black men aren’t cooperative (as are some human beings who are not black).

*I am not arguing who was right or wrong in any of the recent incidents, that wasn’t the point, so don’t even go there.

My point is simple. We can’t ignore the obvious problem, and that, to me, is generalizing. Assuming that all people of a certain “label” (unfortunately) are this and that. You have to look at these incidents on their own. You have to remember what the media is out for. (not getting into that) You also have to remember that each and every human being is different. Judge a person on their character, not the color of their skin, their occupation, or their candidate choice.
